did your wife get to try them on? i just found this video and i love it, you have mice and steady hands to do this, if i did this, i would've messed up along the way, so seeing this makes me feel like it can be done. (though im not a carver) looks fun too.

I know this video is old. But I want that. So I made that. So just saying thanks for the idea. I made them for my four-year-old daughter who loves the movie. I'm an American living in New Zealand... When I watched this video, I know I'm late to the party, I noticed you were calling the fish hooks Maui hook. At far as I know they are: A hei matau is a bone or greenstone carving in the shape of a highly stylised fish hook typical of the Māori people of New Zealand. They represent good luck and safe travel across water. If you haven't looked into the Maori tikis and what they represent have a look...a lot of what you do reminds me of their aesthetic! Love you work and I'm really hoping I can make rocks like you do! Thanks so much!

This specific type of earring is called 'Whakakai Matau' in Maori (necklace ones are Hei Matau). They are traditionally made of bone or pounamu, though now metal is more common for the tourist market.
